The first major Special Idiots outting of 2008 was a trip to Moab to run the Red Hot 50K+(34.1 miles). Over one dozen of us from the Fort Collins, Boulder, Golden area took off on Friday Feb 15th for the Aarchway Inn in Moab. After dinner at Pasta Jays and some last minute prep we all settled in to get some rest before the 8am start on Saturday. The morning was crisp but very nice, and most of us started the race in shorts and long sleeve shirts. Fritaf(sp?), Tressa, Peter, and I took of near one another up the road from the start line.
